HALLOWEEN SLIME IDEAS
When you think of Halloween, what colors come to mind? Choose those for your own homemade Halloween slime recipe. Our favorite Halloween colors that come to mind are purple, oozing green, and of course orange.
Black food coloring would be fun too, and I have noticed that the supermarkets have black food coloring now! I always keep the regular food colors and the neon food colors kit handy for slime activities. We have also started using some new food coloring that comes in a wider variety of colors.

HALLOWEEN SLIME RECIPE
We used our stretchy saline solution slime recipe but you can also use our liquid starch slime recipe or our borax slime recipe. All have videos too!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup clear Washable PVA Glue
- Food Coloring
- Glitter {optional}
- Creepy Crawlies {optional}
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp Saline Solution {this should contain sodium borate/boric acid as ingredients}
NOTE: Most slimes made with saline solution are NOT borax free as many people claim. Please be aware that sodium borate, boric acid, and borax are all part of the boron family. These are key ingredients along with PVA glue to making slime! Read more about slime activators.
HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN SLIME
STEP 1: In a bowl mix 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup of glue to combine completely.
STEP 2: Now's the time to add the food coloring, glitter and Halloween accessories!
TIP: Choose your own colors and glitter to make the slime really come alive. You can use silver glitter or add matching color glitter to each of the slime colors.
STEP 3: Stir in 1/4- 1/2 tsp baking soda.
Baking soda helps to firm and form the slime. You can play around with how much you add but we prefer between 1/4 and 1/2 tsp per batch.
STEP 4:Mix in 1 tbsp saline solution and stir until slime forms and pulls away from sides of the bowl. This is exactly how much you will need with the Target Sensitive Eyes brand, but other brands may differ slightly! Saline solution is preferred over contact solution.
STEP 5:Once you notice the slime pulling away from the sides and bottom of the bowl and becomes harder and harder to stir, it's time to knead.
TIP: Squirt a few drops of solution on your hands to easily pick up your slime as it may be sticky at first. Once you give the slime a good knead, it will become much less sticky!
